Assessment Task #3

MPI – 104 is an introduction to multimedia. From day one of my first class in MPI – 104 I really enjoyed learning and doing the interesting and functional aspects of this subject. Since beginning this subject I have used Google mail to create blogger, FlickR and delicious accounts. The purpose of joining these sites was to engage in sharing information and content with other users. It is all about being active online and being capable of communicating in a community based network. This subject also involved me to learn how to read and enter basic html coding. I was also required to create a website using iWeb. After experimenting with different templates, colours and fonts I was able to produce a legitimate webpage and upload it to the network. In order to publish my webpage on the internet I had to operate an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program called fetch. My totally awesome website was inspired by FMX rider Robbie Maddison and the sport itself so rightly so was named Moto Madness. This website includes a gaming widget which was highly relevant with my website that I am very proud of. For assessment task number three I have continued blogging on my chosen theme of the NRL season 2011. This included all of the latest happenings in the world of rugby league, but after the season had concluded I was worried about what I should continue blogging about, so I decided to produce a best of section involving the highlights of the season and whats to come. My FlickR shows a photostream of all of the photos I have been tagged in during my time of running a muck in and around Wagga Wagga. My delicious has all of my saved favourite links which I use on a regular basis and the ones which are related to my blogger. So to conclude this ridiculously fun class I bid all of you fully sick peeps farewell and congrats on completing your first year of our course.

My Closing Comment

Hey Bloggers,
As you realise this will be my last blog before we hand in our final assessment task for this awesome subject MPI - 104. I hope you guys enjoyed viewing my experimental blog which showcased the latest happenings of the NRL season 2011 and kept you at the best of your game. I'm sorry if your favourite rugby league moment wasn't shown in the highlight videos as there were just way too many highlights to possibly fit them all in. So until the next season begins which i'm sure will be bigger and better then before (soz bout' the cliche'). I bid you farewell and hope you stay safe while cashing cheques and breaking necks.

Grand Final

I believe a congratulations is in order for the team we all love to hate (except if u live in Manly). The title of the 2011 premiers goes to the Manly Sea Eagles who outplayed there kiwi rivals with their sheer skills, strength and speed. Why did the the Manly Sea Eagles players run faster then the New Zealanders? Cos they saw what they do to sheep if they catch them.

Assessment Task Number #2

Assessment Task Number #2 required me to create and publish a website using iweb and a FTP programe called Fetch. My website's inspiration was driven behind FMX rider Robbie Maddison and his achievements. My websites home page includes a little description of the sport and numerous photos, links to major sponsor webpages, a counter, RSS feeds to my blogger, and a cool Stunt Dirt Bike widget game which viewers can enjoy. The next webpage is a rider profile on 'Maddo' it includes his bio, fun facts about him and links to his photo galleries. This page also includes links to my blogger, flickr and delicious accounts. The final webpage is a tribute to Maddo's photos and videos. Its a blog of his biggest achievements and a video to go with it so you can enjoy the excitement and thrill with him. After experimenting with different colours and fonts I was capable of uploading a legit website into the csu's network called 'Maddo Maddness'.

Week nine: FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to copy a file from one host to another over a TCP/IP-based network, such as the internet.  Basically it’s as simple as you need a FTP to have any chance of publishing a website on the internet. FTP is built on client-server architecture and utilizes separate control and data connections between the client and server. FTP is used with user-based password authentication or with anonymous user access. The FTP program which we will be using to publish our assessment task 2 website is known as Fetch. Fetch is a reliable, full-featured file transfer client for the Apple Macintosh whose user interface emphasizes simplicity and ease of use. Fetch supports FTP and SFTP, the most popular file transfer protocols on the Internet for compatibility with thousands of Internet service providers, web hosting companies, publishers, pre-press companies, and more.

Week eight: iWeb – The making of a website.

iWeb is a redonkulously easy way of creating and publishing a website on the internet. With the ease of choosing your desired template and adjusting its colours and fonts and then inserting the material you want incorporated into your website. It’s as easy as stealing an anorexics lunch money. Simple as that. An awesome tool to use in this particular program is the HTML snippet. This allows the user to embed a video into his/her website. Due to this particular programs functional capabilities it makes it effortless to make a seemingly hard task doable by a class of monkeys.

Assessment #1 Blog Post

Intro
MPI – 104 is an introduction to multimedia. Since beginning this subject I have used Google mail to create blogger, FlickR and delicious accounts. The purpose of joining these sites is to engage in sharing information and content with other users. It is all about being active online and being capable of communicating in a community based network. This subject also involved the learning of some basic HTML coding.

Blogger
The topic I elected to blog about was the big league news. This included match reviews, previews, stats, results and all the happenings in the rugby league world. I included embedded videos from YouTube, created 3 links throughout my blogging experience and inserted an image into one of my blogs. I have 13 blog posts including this one and the mandatory blogger, FlickR and delicious ones which were completed in class. I have commented on a few of my classmates blogs. I commented on Micheal Churchill’s, Gregg Henderson’s, Cameron Donoghue’s and Chris Worlands. Links below:
I have also experimented with different templates, colours and fonts and the reasoning behind my selected choice is mainly to do with relating my topic to its background. I have also included a number of links and applied a few gadgets to help with the aesthetics and function of my blog space.

FlickR
In total I uploaded 12 images to my FlickR account. The images mainly consist of the uni shenanigans of living on campus. I have favourited 4 images and commented on a fellow classmates.

Delicious
Upon creating a delicious account I was quite surprised that I would enjoy using it. I find the concept of having a site which bookmarks all of your most used and visited sites to be a great idea and very useful. I have bookmarked 8 sites these including my blogger, master blog, my FlickR, a classmate’s blog and a number of my favourite websites.

Leagues Night of Nights

The Dally M Awards evening took place last night which saw the race between three top gun players who were all in close contention for the afamed prize of the Dally M medal. With West Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall as favourite as the other two players North Queensland Cowboys halfback Jonathon Thurston and Melbourne Storms fullback Billy Slater both had indents during the season which could of cost them a few vital points. Thurston's being from the injury he suffered from in game threes state of origin which put him out for a good part of the season and Slater's resting during the Sydney Roosters thumping. Round 26 (HOW BIG DO U WANT UR WOODEN SPOON!) :P

With the regular season coming to an end after this round it is do or die for some teams who would like to make one last impression before the business begins in the finals. Although the top eight have pretty much been cemented in place I believe the game of this round is not going to be between any of the front running teams. I think the must watch game is going to be between the Parramatta Eels and the Gold Coast Titans. Yes that is correct a no hold back game of footy between two teams that desperately dont want to be the recipients of the bottom of the ladder wooden spoon. Both sides are fully capable of putting on a good show but due to inconsistancy it is sad to see both of these entertaining clubs not taking any part in the final series. The last time these two clubs met in round 7 we were on the edge of our seats watching a thrilling 80minute performance. Here is a little trip down memory lane for those of you who cant remember.

Round 25

The big talk of round 25 was obviously all about the biff between Manly's Glenn Stewart and Melbourne's Adam Blair. Both players were sin bined and while walking off the field a few words were exchanged and again fists were thrown. This engaged Glenns brother brett to react by running in with a swinging arm which could of ended alot worse for both A. Blair and B. Stewart but luckily the extremely dog shot didnt connect properly. Blair was later stacked on by many manly outfits until enough melbourne players were able to come running in and help out their dominated team mate. Here is a little eye pleaser of why there was so much hype over this particular game of footy which had every viewer wanting more.

Round 24 (Rabitohs vs Cowboys)

Friday night footy plays host to a Stella game between the South Sydney Rabitohs and the North Queensland Cowboys. The rabbits are coming into this clash off the back of three big wins. One being over the form slumped dragons and the other two where they were victorious by massive margins over their opposition. The rabbits racked up 103 points over the two wins which showcased the superstar fullback Nathan Merritt crossing the line 8 times for tries. This performance almost automatically pushes him to the top of the leading try scorer’s board. While the cowboys roll into this match after abysmal loss against the broncos the week prior. Will this match see the cowboy’s 150th club win or see them lose and be threatened with dropping from 4th position to 7th position on the ladder?

Round 23 (Cowboys vs Broncos)

Hey bloggers,
The topic that I am going to write about for your entertainment viewing will be pieces on the NRL. I hope you enjoy.
Cheers

If you had missed last weeks round 23 blockbuster between the North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos at Dairy Farmers Stadium in Townsville the end score was (16 – 34) with the baby broncos outplaying the cowboys. This match saw the milestone game of the broncos captain Darren Lockyer’s 350th first grade career game. It also showcased the shock return of Australian and Queensland halfback Jonathon Thurston who had every intention of spoiling the party on his origin halves teammate.

Week 4 Delicious

Delicious is great for having instant access to all of the blogging sites which i am registered to for mpi 104. It allows me to not have to remember all of my pointless passwords and make it simple for me to get from each blogging site with ease. Delicious is absolutely DELISH!!!

Week 4 - FlickR

FlickR is very different, you see a range of different people and things which you neccessarily don't want to see.
I'm not very proud of owning a FlickR account i'm sure if my folks were to know about this I would have bleeding from the ear by now.
I suppose FlickR goes alright for sharing photos but thats about it.
